| August 5, 2008 The Board of Directors of Independent School District #238 met in special session on Tuesday, August 5 at 7:00 p.m. in the Mabel-Canton Conference Room. Members present: Aberg, Adkins, Hall, Kuhn, Laitinen, Soiney, Swenson and Supt. Love Also present: Barb Kerns, Jeff Nolte and Chris Hansen The meeting was called to order by Chair Kuhn. Motion by Hall, second by Adkins and carried unanimously, to approve the revised agenda. Motion by Adkins, second by Hall and carried unanimously, to approve the July 22 minutes. Motion by Swenson, second by Laitinen and carried unanimously, to approve payment of July bills. Motion by Laitinen, second by Hall and carried unanimously, to accept the bid for bakery products from Sara Lee for the 2008-2009 school year. Principal Nolte presented the 2008-2009 Student Handbooks. Motion by Soiney, second by Hall and carried unanimously, to adopt the 2008-2009 Student Handbook, the Chemical Free Policy, the Attendance Policy and the Athletic Policy as presented. Motion by Adkins, second by Hall and carried unanimously, to accept the resignation of Marsha Jevne as English instructor effective for the 2008-2009 school year. Motion by Swenson, second by Adkins and carried unanimously, to approve the following hot lunch and milk prices for the 2008-2009 school year: Elementary Lunch: $1.75 High School Lunch: $1.85 Extra Milk: $ .35 Adult Lunch: $3.50 Adult Breakfast: $1.75 Student Breakfast: $1.00 Kindergarten Milk: $28.00 for the year Grades 1-6 Milk: $56.00 for the year Motion by Swenson, second by Adkins and carried unanimously, to appoint Jane Hall as the Board Representative to the Hiawatha Valley Education District for the 2008-2009 school year. Motion by Adkins, second by Swenson and carried unanimously, to approve the Resolution Establishing Filing Dates for Election to the School Board with filing opening on August 26 and closing at 5:00 p.m. on September 9.
