Elementary Physical Education
Parents: Just a reminder to make sure tennis shoes with nonmarking soles are being worn in PE class. We are experiencing more black marks on the gym floors then in recent years. Some of these marks are being made by dress shoes or boots. Some of these marks are being made by casual type of shoes that are meant to be used for outdoor activities. Many types of “skate board” shoes are on the market and are quite fashionable, however most of these are not meant to be worn inside on a gym floor. A lot of shoes are clearly labeled whether or not they can be worn inside. If you are unsure please ask a store worker if they should be worn inside on a gym floor. Brands such as Nike, Reebok, Adidas, Asics, Converse, etc. are going to be safe brands. However, you don’t have to spend $100 on shoes for your elementary student. There are many cheaper alternatives that will not leave marks on the gym floors. I also want to remind parents to send tennis shoes to school with their kids. As the weather becomes cooler, more boots are being worn and it’s easy to forget your tennis shoes at home. Please check your child’s backpack each morning to make sure that their tennis shoes are in there. Thank you, Mr. Morken
