Here's just a little bit about me...

I grew up in Spring Grove, and graduated high school from there in 2001.  I went on to college at Winona State University, graduating in 2006 with a major in Elementary Education, with emphases in Middle School Communication Arts and Science.  I enjoyed being a substitute teacher in area schools for a few years.

In 2009, I married my husband, Shawn, and then started a family.  We are blessed with two great, energetic boys: Garret and Gavin.  After taking a few years off from teaching to enjoy watching my kids grow, I got back into teaching at Mabel-Canton in a first grade setting.  In 2019, I moved into middle school Science, and am happy to be returning this fall.

In my spare time, I love to sing, spend time with friends and family, read with my kids, watch movies, take peaceful walks and enjoy nature.  Being out in nature makes me think of all the amazing things that happen all around us every day, many of which we'll get to learn about in my science classes!
