I live in Decorah, IA with my family: Nathan, Noah (16), June (11), and Penny the dog.  Some of my favorite things to do are: take walks in the woods, look for fossils, read good novels, sing (loudly), and sit by evening fires.  I also love to be involved in local theatre productions.  :-)

I graduated from Rushford-Peterson high school and earned my BA from Luther College.  At Luther, I studied English, Education, and Theatre/Dance.  My teaching experience includes teaching in a democratic school in Colorado, subbing, directing extra-curricular Speech and Theatre in Iowa, teaching outdoor education and summer camps to preschool and elementary students, and directing a Waldorf-inspired outdoor-based preschool for five years.  After all that, I decided to teach high school English and started teaching for Mabel-Canton in 2018!

Teaching in Mabel-Canton has changed my life, and I'm so grateful for the students and the community that enable me to spend my days doing something meaningful and rewarding.  Thanks y'all!   :-)
